BLUE FALCON - MARK ROBB
Gyr peregrines
RETURN TO HOME PAGE

Gyr/peregrines (gyr/shaheen) are one of the largest and most powerful hybrids available. Well known for their speed and strength during flight and when tackling prey, this hybrid is very popular amongst falconers.

I produce some of the worlds finest Gyr/Peregrines by crossing large white Greenland and Canadian Gyrfalcons with Scottish Peregrines.

This particular cross of Gyr/Peregrine has proved to be one of the most stunning and successful hybrids in falconry. (picture above - adult female gyr/peregrine).

Each season I produce a limited number of high quality hunting falcons through natural reproduction and artificial insemination.

The breeding stock, carefully selected from a variety of bloodlines throughout the world, are recognized for their performance in the field, colour, size, configuration and temperament. At present I have bloodlines originating from Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Canada, the United States, New Founland and Russia

Weights for Gyr/Peregrines range from 1100-1500g for females and 700-950g for males.

For all artificial insemination I use one of my four white semen donating gyrs - Dawson, Danni, Mc Neesh and Shackelton:
